Eleanor offers a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship where you can explore what’s brought you to therapy at your own pace
Eleanor is a qualified integrative counsellor who holds a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is currently nearing completion of her MA and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at The Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading integrative training institutions. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), Eleanor is committed to delivering the highest standards of ethical care in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.
Eleanor brings seven years of therapeutic experience across diverse settings, including the NHS, third sector organisations, and private practice. This breadth of experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of different client needs and the flexibility to adapt her approach accordingly. Eleanor believes that therapy should feel safe and collaborative, moving at a pace that feels right for each individual client.
Eleanor understands that taking the step to begin therapy can feel significant, and she strives to create a welcoming space where clients can feel genuinely heard and responded to. With her warm, authentic approach, Eleanor aims to build trusting therapeutic relationships that allow clients to explore their experiences and reconnect with their inner wisdom.
Eleanor’s Philosophy
“Most of all I want to build a trusting relationship, which feels safe, to explore what’s brought you to therapy. Being heard and genuinely responded to within a therapeutic relationship is hugely powerful. It can help us feel more anchored in ourselves, and enrich our relationships with those around us.”
Eleanor’s approach centres on the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is the foundation for healing and growth. She views therapy as a collaborative journey where clients can explore their experiences, understand patterns from the past, and discover new ways of being in the present. Eleanor is particularly interested in how different aspects of our identity connect and what this means in our immediate relationships and wider society.
Therapeutic Approach
Eleanor specialises in Integrative Therapy, drawing thoughtfully from several therapeutic modalities to create an approach tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences:
- Relational Therapy – Paying close attention to the therapeutic relationship and what emerges between therapist and client, helping to understand inner worlds and process aspects of the past
- Attachment Theory – Exploring how early relationships shape our expectations of others and our emotional lives
- Psychodynamic Therapy – Understanding what may have been needed but missing in early relationships, and considering the ways we manage anxiety and emotions
- Body Therapy – Attending to bodily experiences such as sensations or tensions to help understand our emotional world, with particular attention to bodily regulation in response to trauma
- Trauma-Informed Practice – Working with an understanding of how trauma impacts both mind and body, creating safety in the therapeutic space
- Intersectionality – Considering different aspects of identity and how they connect, including the impact of age, race, class, sexuality, and other factors on our experiences
Eleanor’s integration involves exploring experiences from the past to understand the present, while keeping the therapeutic relationship central. She believes in listening deeply to clients and responding authentically, helping them tune into what has emotional significance and where healing might be needed.
