Becky is a passionate and empathetic counsellor at Hope Therapy & Counselling Services. She is dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals seeking support and guidance. Her approach to counselling is pluralistic. She integrates various therapeutic modalities to tailor the treatment to meet each client’s unique needs.
Counselling Approaches:
Psychodynamic Theory: Drawing from psychodynamic theory, I believe that our past experiences, especially those from childhood, shape our present thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. We can gain insight into our current struggles by exploring unconscious patterns and unresolved conflicts. I will help you delve into your subconscious, uncovering underlying issues and facilitating self-awareness and personal growth.
Gestalt Therapy: Gestalt therapy emphasises the importance of focusing on the present moment and promoting self-awareness. This approach will explore your thoughts, emotions, and sensations as they arise in the here and now. By acknowledging and understanding these experiences, we can work towards integrating fragmented aspects of your identity, promoting wholeness and authenticity.
Person-Centred Approach (PCA): The person-centred approach is rooted in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. In your sessions, she will provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can freely express yourself. By fostering a strong therapeutic relationship, you will work collaboratively to identify and pursue your goals. She believes that you are the expert in your life and will support you in discovering your inner resources and finding solutions.
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Together, you will explore any negative or unhelpful thinking patterns that may contribute to distress. We can develop healthier beliefs and coping strategies by challenging and reframing these thoughts. I will provide you with practical tools and techniques to manage difficult emotions, change maladaptive behaviours, and improve your overall well-being.
Therapeutic Philosophy
As a pluralistic counsellor, she recognises that each individual is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. She is committed to tailoring my approach to your needs, preferences, and goals. She will regularly check in with you throughout your sessions to ensure that your therapeutic work aligns with your expectations and that you feel heard and understood.
Her role as a counsellor is to support and empower you on your journey towards personal growth and well-being. She strives to create a safe and confidential space where you can explore your concerns, gain insight, and develop the skills needed to overcome challenges. I am dedicated to providing an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and emotions.
Together, you will work towards fostering self-awareness, building resilience, and developing effective coping strategies. She believes in your innate capacity to heal and grow and would be honoured to be a part of your therapeutic journey.
If you feel that she may be the right counsellor for you, you are invited to reach out and schedule an appointment. Remember, seeking support is a courageous step towards a more fulfilling life. She is there to accompany you on that path.
