Offering compassionate, trauma-informed therapy rooted in respect, empathy, and empowerment

Chris is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as a Foundation Degree in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. As a commitment to his ongoing professional development, he has also embarked on a master’s degree in counselling psychology.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), Chris is committed to delivering the highest standards of care in a safe and supportive environment.

Chris brings warmth, empathy, and a deep respect for each person’s unique experiences. Clients can expect a confidential and non-judgmental space, whether they choose face-to-face or online sessions. Chris understands that reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially during times of anxiety, loss, or transition, and strives to make the first steps into counselling as comfortable as possible.

Therapeutic Approach

Chris works integratively, drawing upon a variety of approaches—including person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic insights. This flexible method ensures that each client’s needs and preferences shape the therapeutic process. Chris listens without preconceptions and works collaboratively, supporting clients to explore and make sense of their challenges at their own pace.

Experience and Areas of Focus

Chris has substantial experience supporting individuals with:

  • Bereavement and grief
  • Family breakdown and relationship difficulties
  • Domestic and emotional abuse
  • Childhood trauma, including bullying and childhood sexual abuse
  • Identity issues, with sensitivity toward LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse clients
  • Academic or work-related pressures
  • Low confidence, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and stress

Chris is particularly committed to working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and is dedicated to ongoing learning around trauma-informed care. By integrating evidence-based practices and current research, Chris aims to provide compassionate and effective support to survivors.

Chris also works with young adults (14+) and students, supporting them through transitions, self-esteem matters, and social anxiety, helping them better understand and manage the challenges they face.

Couples Counselling

Chris also offers couples counselling, providing a supportive and impartial space for partners to navigate challenges, strengthen communication, and work through difficulties together. Recognising that every relationship is unique, Chris draws on an integrative approach to help couples explore patterns, rebuild trust, and deepen their understanding of one another’s needs. Sessions are collaborative and non-judgmental, enabling both partners to be heard and to develop healthier ways of relating. Whether facing conflict, coping with life transitions, or seeking to reconnect, Chris supports couples in working towards a more fulfilling and resilient partnership. Couples counselling is available both online and in-person, ensuring flexible and accessible support for clients across England.

Family Counselling

Chris also offers family counselling, supporting families to navigate challenges, improve communication, and strengthen their relationships. Understanding that family dynamics can be complex and emotionally charged, Chris provides a safe, neutral space where each family member can express themselves and feel heard. Using an integrative and compassionate approach, Chris works with families to identify unhelpful patterns, explore shared concerns, and develop new ways of supporting one another. Whether facing changes, conflicts, or periods of stress, Chris helps families work towards greater understanding, connection, and resilience. Family counselling is available both online and in-person, offering flexible options to meet the unique needs of all family members.

Values and Ethos

Chris believes that therapy is not about “fixing” a person, but about fostering understanding, self-acceptance, and resilience. Every individual has innate strengths and the capacity for growth, even during life’s most challenging times. Chris creates a therapeutic relationship based on genuine care, patience, and hope—helping clients reconnect with their values and discover healthier ways forward.

Practicalities and Next Steps

Chris offers both in-person and online sessions for maximum flexibility and accessibility. Finding the right counsellor is an important decision; Chris welcomes clients to take up a complimentary 15-minute consultation via this link to discuss their needs and see if working together may be a good fit.
